This is a little late since Thanksgiving was last week but I wanted to get in the habit of sharing the recipes that I have been trying as well as designs for the holidays, etc. So, I have a few before pictures of all of our decorations and plates before I set up to host dinner- basically a whole tabletop mess of possibilities. But it all turned out ok- well, better than ok- beautifully. We had a GREAT dinner and a roaring fire and the Cowboys won! Miracles do happen on Thanksgiving too! :) This was the first time we were able to use our Pottery Barn Great White Set that we got as a wedding present. Hurricane fillers are actually Puka seeds from www.save-on-crafts.com and the mini pumpkin pie recipe can be found at www.bakerella.com
The pinecone garland I bought from West Elm a few years ago (there's a wreath too!) and I used a roll of Scotts Kraft packaging paper as the table runner. All in all, it was a great night and the table looked amazing!
This is a blog about everything: my company and designs, my interests, personal style and anything that I find that I love!

The Dallas Flea
It's that time again! The Dallas Flea will be at South Side on Lamar this Saturday! Nest Designs will be there as well as many, many other vendors. Come on by and get some great deals on Christmas gifts for everyone on your list, including yourself!
West Elm Event
Hey everyone! Every so often, Etsy Dallas (as I'm sure other local Etsy teams) partner with local businesses to promote handmade as well as giving to charities and non-profits. This Thursday Etsy Dallas will be at West Elm at Mockingbird Station to help bring the Christmas Cheer with some fun crafts and local handmade- and to benefit The Children's Place. If you don't live in Dallas, you can find the West Elm closest to you because there are Etsy teams all over the country doing this at 37 different West Elms! Go and have some fun and show your support!

the paper nest
The Paper Nest is my line of paper products. These were my original products for my company back in 2009. Most of the products are fabric-based such as the fabric notecards, stitched folded cards and fabric gift tags. I also have a line of "texting" cards that are super fun! You can find all these products and more at www.thepapernestco.com

Tuesday Treasures: Furniture Love
I love furniture. I just do- I can't help it. It's a sickness really but I literally will need about four living rooms, 3 master bedrooms, 6 guestrooms and 2 nurseries for each of my children- not to mention 2 formal and 2 non-formal dining rooms. While we're at it, throw in a couple of yards, a few dens and a library or two and I think we have it covered. And yes, with all that, I would easily be able to furnish every square foot. Did I mention I love Anthropologie as well? I take field trips to their website and store just to dream of the day that I can purchase some of their furniture. Today I'm sharing my favorites from Anthro so I hope you enjoy my dream list. The first is my actual dream bedroom. I will have this one day: love the bed and bedding, pair that with dark walls (I'm thinking actual chalkboard paint so I can get my write-on) and heavily scraped, rugged wood floors. Dark wood floors. And a wall of windows. Add a sliding barn door to access the bathroom/closets and we're done. Love it! Hope you enjoy all the other pieces that make my heart go pitter pat.

the leather nest
The Leather Nest is my newest company under Nest Designs and I must say I am having so much fun! I started playing around with leather and creating cuffs and wrap bracelets. I'm naturally drawn to really unique and rugged leather...and feathers...and fur...and well you get the picture! Here are some of my creations captured in a recent photoshoot. You can shop all these styles and more online at www.theleathernest.com
Welcome
Welcome to Nest Designs!
Some of you may have been following my old blog: The Paper Nest Co.
Although I will not be continuing that blog, since my company has grown to expand past just paper products, I will still be sharing great designs, Etsy finds and whatever else I fall in love with. Enjoy!
